Hi everyone, Mike from Detroit area, Michigan! Heard good things about this site. Been smoking a few years solidly now. Been sticking to the basic meats, pork shoulders, ribs, chicken and brisket. Make own sauce and rub, doing a lot of experimenting lately. Have our first KCBS competition this weekend. Have the good old fashion 22.5" Weber and a Brinkmann Trailmaster offset stick burner. I plan to build my own hopefully if I can find time, if not my favorite is the Lang probably the 84". Hope to share BBQ stories, tips and recipes with you all and learn a few new things for my bag of BBQ...

Welcome to the forum from Lansing Mike.  And what a great forum it is to learn the art of smoking everything.

We have a Michigan group here.  http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/groups/show/27/michigan-members-group

If you get a chance check it out and please join if you have not done so yet.

We are having a Michigan get together this year and I hope you can make it.   There’s still time to get in the fatty throw down.

It’s always nice to see another Michigander here.
