Hello,I am from Montgomery Alabama and I am new to smoking.I have a charbroil side box smoker, only used it once with out any luck.I tried ribs and thought I did a good job but they were tough and awfully strong tasting. They smelled like burnt wood,no kidding. So I'm going back to school, who is the best Professor here?I need help :) .I'm debating on getting a Weber bullet smoker, all the reviews are pretty darn good. Not so much for what I have.Debating on the 18.5 or the 22.5.What time does class normally start around here?I'll try to be a good student.

Welcome. There is a ton of info here. There are forums here for the various types of smokers on the market. Check em out. I would spend a few days to a week or more just scouring this forum for info and them make your decision about which smoker to get. You may find that you can actually use the smoker you have and get good results.

The Weber smokey mountains are great smokers. Can't go wrong there.

skydog2112,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.
Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

As said above take some time to research the different smokers. If I was going with

the WSM I would go with the larger.
Happy smoken.
