Good morning everyone, I am from Spirit lake idaho. My family greatly enjoys hunting and eating so i figured this was a good way to blend the 2. Growing up we use to smoke salmon an jerky in a little chief smoker. So i have decided to up it a bit. I just ordered a A-Maze-N pellet tray. I plan on building my smoker out of a 119 gallon pressure tank we just replaced. With what i have read here i am thinking of attaching a box to hold the generator as well as another in case i want to add a hot smoke option.

I am really looking forward to making some sausage as well as bacon an ham when i figure it out. Wife wants Jerky so that will be on the menu also. I purchased a commercial slicer and a number 32 grinder that i am attaching a electric motor to.

Looking forward to input and learning more from this forum and people who have done this for years and learned from the same mistakes i will probably make :)

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! When you start that build...talk to the guys in the Builds section.  They can help you and get things rolling for you.

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
