Hi all. I have been lurking here for a couple of months and have really learned a lot from reading your posts and have got lots of great ideas. I am from sotheastern Michigan and consider myself an excellent griller. I just bought a Weber Summit 650 this spring and have been experimenting with smoking on it. So far I have smoked BB, spare ribs, butts, ABTs, and chicken. I realize now I either need to make some mods to the Weber or buy a real smoker due to lots of leaks. I love this forum and look forward to chatting with all of you.

Hello, and glad you're part of the SMF.

First off welcome to Smf phil. You already know how great this place and the people are from lurking in the dark. So we are glad you decided to step out tinto the light and show yourself. Have you learned the art of the Qview yet as you know it's very important around here it will let us know what your smoking with and what your smoking. Plus we just like looking at smokes of any kind after all "we are all kids here and you have the candy" So get to smokin and Qviewin.

Welcome Phil, Glad to have you with us. This is the place to learn, lots of good info and helpful friendly Members.

For Those of you New to Smoking, be sure to check out Jeff's 5 Day Smoking Basics eCourse.
Click Here it's "FREE"... 5 Day eCourse

Everyone here enjoys seeing the Qview so be sure to post plenty of pics... Large ones that us old people with bad eyes can see.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

Welcome Phil. You will love having a real smoker, thats not to say you cannot turn out some awesome Q on a BBQ . But it is easier and more convenient to have a dedicated smoker.

Good luck on what ever you choose. Remember we love qview.

welcome to my addiction. You might be able to seal up the leaks or if your like me it's allways nice to have new toys.
