Newbie from Iowa

First off just want to say thanks for this great site. Have been doing A LOT of reading on this site and finally last night went and bought a Masterbuilt XL at bass pro. Put it together this morning and am seasoning as we speak. Living in the Des Moines area right now and looking forward to the new world of smoking. 

I also have an old cheap electric smoker that my Grandpa gave me, it has no way to determine heat just plug in and on. I plan on getting an A-Maze-IN smoker and turn the box of that into a cold smoker. I figure if I'm going to jump into this I might as well jump all the way in. I'm sure I will many questions around the way and want to thank everyone in advance for all the help. It's great to have a friendly forum like this when your just setting out.

Thanks for the welcome. it is not insulated except the door isn't just a single pane of metal it has some sort of insulation on it it seems
