Newbie from Indiana

Hi, I'm Steve from the Indianapolis, Indiana area. I'm originally from Southern Indiana, where fried chicken, German fries, cole slaw and schooner beer reigns supreme! The "fun" gift for my tenth anniversary present from my wife was a GOSM and I just put it together this week. I love to grill but have never smoked anything, thus, as we always said in the USMC about new Marines, I'm a "boot" to it

. I found this site, found the forum, and was amazed by the willingness of the members to help. I really look forward to smoking, the growing pains, asking questions, and just interacting. Thanks for having me!

Welcome aboard Boot! There are a lot of Old Corps smokers here! I was new to it a couple of years ago...I think I've only used my grill may 2 or 3 times since we started smoking. It's addicting. There's a wealth of knowledge here and many GOSM users. Get that thing fired up! And Semper Fi by the way...are you an ND fan?

From the NW "Region" myself and a Boilermaker at that!

If you only learn or try one thing from this site I would have to reccomend that it be "Atomic Buffalo Turds"! Not real filling as a snack goes, but them is the tastiest things that I have ever had! Been making a batch every week or so here lately. (the ole lady thinks I am nuts, and who would know better?) Doing a butt this weekend, so I am off to start on the rub!
