My name is Aaron, and I joined here to get some better knowledge on techniques and products for grilling and smoking.

I have been using a $30 grill from Walmart for the past 5 years, it worked ok, but I needed to upgrade. My girlfriend got me a barrel type grill with an offset firebox for smoking about a month ago for my birthday. I love it, but dont really know much about smoking meats.

Its great to be here and I am ready to learn everything I can from ya'll.

Thanks

Aaron

Welcome, from the Bryan/ College Station area.

Glad to have you, there are plenty of knowledgeable folks around here that are more than willing to help.

Just fire away with the questions and we will see what we can do to help

I am sure I will have some questions tomorrow. I tried smoking some ribs a couple of weeks ago. It was windy and I figured out the thermometer that came with the grill is worthless. The ribs turned out ok, but I was more stressed about getting the smoker up to 225 than anything because . I see grilling/smoking as a stress releiver, that experience was anything but.

I am going to the store tonight to get some more ribs and a thermometer I can place in the grill for a more accurate reading. I am also going to try some of the modifications I have read about on here. I am sure this time around will be much better.
