Hello Everyone! I've been looking around the forums a few days and wanted to go ahead and introduce myself. My name is Chris and I'm brand new to smoking and looking to hopefully get very knowledgeable and involved in the fun in smoking meat. I've always loved eating anything grilled and anything smoked.
My wife just bought me a Master Forge Double Door Vertical Propane smoker and at the recommendation of many posts from people on this forum, I have purchased a Maverick ET-73 to monitor my meats and the internal temp of my new smoker. I'm trying to give myself every advantage of succeeding at this. I'm hoping to just take meats one at a time and attempt to learn as I go. So of course I will be a frequent visitor on this website and hopefully be able to contribute some fun discussions while getting advice on my new adventure.
Thank you all ahead of time for the many "dumb" questions I'm sure I will ask (I know, no dumb questions :-) Any other suggestions or advice is always welcome and appreciated before I start diving in.
Based on many of the discussions I've seen, I'm thinking that a Boston Butt or Beef Brisket will probably be some of my first ventures. So look forward to interacting with everyone!
