  1. Hello, I've been using a homebuilt gas grill on a boat trailer for my grilling needs up until now.

I've got a friend that smokes and I decided that I wanted to take a stab at it.

I bought a lightly used Chargiller Duo and added the SFB.

I did the vent extension mod first thing and put some fire brick in the grill thinking it would hold the heat better, don't know if it did or not, no baseline to compare it with.

The opposite side of the grill from the fire box was not near as hot as the fire box side. My bricks and pans might have obstructed the heat flow, I don't know. I think next time I'll more the pans to the top of the cooking surface and lay some coal in between the bricks or even remove the bricks completely.

    Your input is appreciated.

    Thanks, Levi.
