Hello,

My name is Jack and I have been a lurker on your site for some time. Grew up in Montana and went to Alaska for a summer job some 30 years ago and have called it home ever since. Played around with smoking in MT in an old ice box smoker I had made, mostly whitefish, some brauts, sausages and wild game smoking there. .My brother and me do quite a bit of salmon smoking in a new ice box smoker we put together quite a few years ago in Alaska.

I went to China on a short project and have been here 10+ years now and am hoping to get back into some smoking when I finally head back to the states. Looking at getting a YS 640 when I do get back, at least that is what I am thinking now, so many to choose from makes it a hard decision!

I have been making jerky here in China, just dehydrating and not smoking, both ground and strips. I just drool over all of the information and smoked projects people on this site turn out. Hope to keep learning, reading and to get smoking soon.

Thanks for such a great site and all the people here are so helpful with their replies, it just makes it seem like a great big family of smokers!

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack...Welcome aboard!  Glad you've joined our group.  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  You'll find there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
