Hey all, new to the site so saying hi. I found this site by trying to find info on the 3 smokers I am interested in buying. Every time I did a search you all came up so after reading posts on here for a week I decided to join. Seems like a lot of good people with a lot of know how hang out here so I figured what better place to learn!

Ok so about me, I live in Aurora Colorado. I have two Olde English Bulldogs that hang with me all the time. Lol. Have 3 kids, 2 are grown and gone, last one is my baby girl. She's 17 but still my baby.

I don't have a lot of smoking under my belt. Have a lil cheap Master built smoker, the green one that looks kinda like the ECB, and a offset that I built from a char-broil barrel bbq and a char-griller firebox. Did a lot of the mods on it and a few of my own that I'm still testing. If they work well I will post them on here for others to try.

I'm looking to buy a new smoker this coming week( if I ever make up my mind ) I have three that I'm choosing between, well maybe four, there is a Good One Pony Express on  CL for $150.00 Don't know much about them. But the ones I'm trying to decide between are the Char-boil Longhorn, the Brinkmann Trailmaster, and the Char-Griller Super Pro grill. I already have the sfb for it.

So which forum to I go to, to post questions about all these smokers and get help deciding which 1 to get?

Thanks again all, as soon as I get her all together and seasoned I'll smoke something and get some pics out.

I had an ECB smoker and it worked fine but hard to control temperature. I now use a kamado kooker. This unit is unsulated well and you can dial in the temperature from 200° on up. There are lots of great smokers on the market. I would stay clear of the units that you cannot adjust the air flow. If you do buy an insulated model, you will enjoy fuel savings too...Good luck and remember...Smoke it like it's the last time....

Welcome aboard. Glad to have ya here. Like you, I stumbled across this site while researching units. I'm so glad I did. The folks here are great. Very friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help. I agree with you about enjoying the kids while they're young and don't know everything. Mine's 15 and I think I'm going to have her name changed to World Book.
