Hey Everyone! My name is Michael and I'm from northwest Connecticut. I'm brand new to charcoal grilling and smoking. I've used gas grills for about 15 years and like the convenience, but I really love the low and slow tender BBQ. I also love smoked meats. There's nothing like a good smokey flavor to any meat. I'm here though because my first smoke today was rather disappointing, so I'm going to puruse the forum for tips. If there are any posts for beginners, please point me in the right direction!

Welcome to the forum, Michael.

Glad to have you with us.

A good place to start is with the free 5 day e-course.

What smoker do you have?

Use the search feature at the top right (magnifying glass) and type in your smoker.

Also here is a link to a bunch of good recipes.

Good luck,

Hey Al, thanks for the tip! I'm using a Weber Kettle with the Smokenator insert. I know it may not be a true smoker, but it was the least expensive add-on option being the grill was free to me.
