Hello I am new to smoking.  I have always wanted to try so I thought now is the time.  My name is Troy and I am from Tulsa, OK.  I have just purchased a propane Great Outdoors Smokey Mountain smoker to get started.  I did season my smoker the other night so I am looking forward to trying something next weekend.

What is the best to start learning on smoking?   Ribs, Pork butts,Brisket?

3-2-1 Ribs are real easy, pork butts are easy but they can take a long time, chicken is a fast easy smoke to learn your smoker with.

I would start with chicken. It can take wide temp swings and still turn out great.

[IMG]to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! Chickens are not as pricey, so go with that first.  Then do a butt.  They will season that smoker and are very forgiving too!
