Some say that each one of those ninty degree elbows will restrict the airflow by fifty percent.
So that's 3 times .75 divided by 2 equals 1.125 sq inches of warmed air intake being forced to reverse flow downward to the fire box, it's actually less than 1.125 sq inches of intake available, because heat and smoke like to go up, so now you've created another restriction of unknown value by forcing the intake downward.
