im new here so hello everyone. ok so i started off by burning off the paint on the outside of the drum witch does have the tan linner in it.and by doing so it changed the tan linner to black. i did try the wire wheel on the tan liner and i came off slow but still would come off to the metal. now as the black it wont even come off at all. using the wire wheel on it doesnt work it looks like it is polishing it lol. it looks like the webber lid i have. almot like a powdercoat type of feeling to it. i dont know what to do from here. not sure if having it sandblasted would even have an effect on it. i have used the torch on it but it only wants to burn off in certain spots.what should i do from here?

Build the UDS and then heat it up to 650 or higher using briquettes and wood..  using the air inlet valves etc....    anything toxic will be burned out of the drum...   Brush all the loose stuff out of it....    spray with veggie oil then cure the oil at around 400 ish...  anything left will be sealed in by the oil...

Thanks Dave for the reply. I actually found out my uncle has a sand blaster last night and barrowed it and just blasted all that I could.
