New Top Controller Design For The MES 30 Gen 1?

I've been looking at different MES smokers and I've noticed that there are two different shapes for the top controller--rectangular and half circle. I noticed the controller is in a half-circle shape with what looks like an array of buttons. Is the half circle top controller a redesign of the original controller for the MES Gen 1 models? I'm seeing this controller on the Sportsman Elite 30 smoker (which looks like a Gen 1 other than that top controller) and what looks like the updated line of MES 30 Gen 1 digital smokers on the Masterbuilt site with the MES and with the MES 30 and 40 stainless steel with window models.

Is this a redesigned top controller that can be ordered for the MES 30 Gen 1 (which I own) or is it the original top controller with just a cosmetic makeover?
