Kingman, Az
HI, from Kingman AZ. We are from L. A. to San Diego to Kingman transplants.
I have been BBQ'ing for 50 plus years and have tried the Smoking thing on my Gas grill.
I have used the aluminum pouches w/holes and a cast iron box w/ lid and have had good luck with both.
Most of my prior experience was with Gas as with young KIDS the BBQ cools off fast.
3-4 years ago we picked up a "OFF SET" smoker to try out. Did ribs and chicken and turn out Great. We use the smoker for 2-3 hrs and finish on the gas grill and mop the sauce on.
After reading many threads here I have found new and great ways and rub/sauces to try out. The Diabetic sauce was right up as I am also diabetic. Need one with little or no salt as the high blood pressure thing is here also. Thanks for this forum and will be reading as you write. Will jump in with a comment when needed. May do a butt this weekend and could try to take pictures.

Welcome to SMF Paul & Jo. As it is 110 degrees in the shade in sunny Az during the summers, you might get your full value from that "Off Set" smoker you've got going there. Glad to have you here & looking forward to reading your posts & enjoying your qview.

Thank you all....
realtorterry: as we do get to Bullhead on Sam runs maybe we could meet. Yes the temp is high here in the summer but about 10-20 degree less than bullhead.
want to get into it but have to build the patio and set up the "Grills". Will be trying the different ways we have read about sooooon. This weekend maybe a Butt?? Pictures will follow if we do.
