Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone.

My name is Chuck and this will be my first experience with smoking. I have a couple of co-workers who have been doing it for a while and I really wanted to give it a try. My wife got me a Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite 30" electric smoker for Christmas so I am trying to learn as much as I can before I start my first project.

I am from Ohio so my first experience will be using the smoker out in below freezing temps. I'm hoping to have everything ready to do a pork butt this weekend and so I am looking through the forum for good advice and recipes.

Hello Chuck and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!
