In a van down by the river
I just upgraded my charbroil electric smoker with a new Oklahoma Joe (OKJ) highland.  I just unboxed it about 45 mins ago.  After about 10 years with the electric smoker I figured it was time for me to start with a mid range stick burner.  I went with the Oklahoma joe because I feel it is really well constructed, with a few mods, for the 175 bucks that I paid for it.  Brand new from Wally's world...  I guess it was end of season and they needed room for Holiday crap, only 90 more shopping days left.

I hear lots of people cry about quality of the OKJ smoker and that the new ones made in China are crap and the older ones are made better - Blah - Blah - Blah.  Isn't this true with everything being manufactured and sold today?  Why should my smoker be any different.

Any who, I'm really excited to set this thing up and start putting my meat in it :)

Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the new smoker!

Looking forward to seeing it in action!
