Hey yall, my name is Daniel. I am from Fort Worth, Texas. I found this website by reading the comments on a smoker on amazon. I know, I know, "but you are from Texas, why are you buying a smoker on amazon?" Well... it was cheap, had pretty good reviews, and i was tired of looking around town and not finding what i liked or it being too expensive. So amazon it was. It should be here today!

A little about me,  I grew up in the country. On a cattle/ chicken farm in east texas. We always smoked meats when we had family get togethers. I have a wife, two daughters, and another tiny human on the way. I just got out of the military. I spent 9 years with the Marine Corps. I got into smoking about 5 years ago. We bought our first smoker. It was a small cheap one, a little char-broil offset. The first thing we did was throw some ribs on. They turned out soo good. The first ribs in my life I ate without BBQ sauce. We made the rub ourselves and it turned  out amazing. From then on we have been hooked. It was a new meat every weekend. I've had to take the past year or so off due to deployments and moving back to the great state. I'm excited about getting back into it.

I came here to make some friends. I also came here for the knowledge. I dont like to ask google my smoking questions, so i will be bringing them here for now on.

Agee, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and thank you for your 9 years of service!   It was deployments and kids at home that made my decision easy to end my military career at just about the same time as you, but that was almost three decades ago.

Looks like you and your family are back in each other's arms and enjoying the time spent together.  Enjoy the backyard vittles and definitely don't be shy about asking questions if one pops up.

Have fun!

Thanks Ray!

When you start having kids its not as easy going out on deployments and staying away as long. Thank you for your service as well!!
