Hi, I'm Dave from Rochester Minnesota and I just bought a smoker.  I wanted to try it out and didn't want to invest a lot of money so I bought a Brinkman electric smoker.  I bought an electric so I wouldn't have to spend a lot of time trying to get the right temperature with charcoal or gas.  Don't know if I did the right thing but I did it anyway.  So far I've tried smoking baby back ribs, pork chops, brisket, turkey breast, a pork loin, and a pork roast for pulled pork.  I have liked all of them and plan to try more different types of meat while the weather permits.  I have tried mesquite, apple, and hickory wood so far and would like to try more as I get the chance.  I think my smoker runs a little hot but it doesn't have any control for the temperature so I guess I'll have to live with it. I plan to keep smoking at least once a week or as long as my wife will let me.  She enjoys the flavor of the meat too and especially likes the idea that she doesn't have to cook evrything.  I hope everything keeps working and I have good luck with my cooking.
