Hi, this is Lori from Washington State.  I'm a longtime griller looking to move onto using a smoker as the smoking planks and smoker insert in my Weber grill just aren't doing the job.  I've pretty much settled on getting a Masterbuilt Electric 30" model and am navigating through what seems like hundreds of models.  Please see my post under Electric Smokers if you have model recommendations.

Looking forward to being part of the community!

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a foggy and cooler day in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome from SC, Lori. You have come to the right place. There are lots of folks who are always ready to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading.

Good luck and keep on smokin', Joe

Thanks all!  I thought a lot about which smoker to purchase and wound up getting an Oster Smoker/Roaster.  Seems like an inexpensive way to initially get into smoking.

For any of you that has used one of these - what kind of adjustments, if any, do you make to smoker recipes for the best results from this smoker?
