New to the forums and the website

Hello all! New to the forum and a fairly new smoker. I have been smoking meat for about 1 1/2 years on a Traeger Lil Tex Elite and also a Traeger PTG. I just changed my thermostat on the PTG and love it! 

I feel bad for the wife as she had just purchased an awesome Bar-B-Que a month before I was introduced to the Traeger. Needless to say I still have a brand new Bar-B-Que. 

Can't wait to see some new techniques and recipes to try out on the boys at work (Fire Department)!

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hey, captain, welcome to the frorum. Lots of great info and good folks here. Use the search function or just ask if you need something. Theres enough great recipes here that they boys at the department will make you chief before you know it.
