Hello all,

I just had a smoker given to me for my birthday a few weeks ago, and have had some really good luck on it so far.  That said, I wanted more ideas, tips, and tricks, so here I am.

The smoker that I got for my birthday is a standup generic electric job.  I can see on here that if I get really into smoking, and I think I will, that I will need to invest in a charcoal/wood fired smoker.

So far I've had great success with wings, ribs, and bone in chicken breasts, and 1 bad experience with a boston butt.

welcome to SMF!

If you can do ribs and chicken on your watt burner you can do anything that will fit on it.

Practice makes perfect and you get to eat your mistakes.

Welcome

I haven't been here but a short time myself, but I can promise you that you wont regret it for a second. The folks here are more than willing to help you out and I don't think there is too much you can come up with as far as questions that you wont be able to get an honest and quick response to. I know I have had awesome experiences here.

You might want to take a quick look at the link on the right hand side for the a-maze-n smoker. It will help out alot in your electric smoker, plus Todd is an great guy to deal with.

Anyway

Good Luck and hope you have fun learning.

Dave
