New to smoking.

Hi people.

              My name is Scott. Im from Dutchess County from New York and I'm looking for a place to learn. Dont have a smoker yet but in the process of gathering materials to build an Ugly Drum Smoker. Hopefully I'll have everything I need in a week or so. In the meantime I'm gonna be lurking all over this forum in my quest for smoky wisdom. Take care for now.

Welcome from the eastern Finger Lakes (Auburn/Skaneateles area).  You'll find more helpful and knowledgeable folks here that you can shake a stick at.  Trolling the forums for info in back posts could be addictive though.....

There's a whole forum on UDS builds.  Good luck and I hope you get as much stisfaction from the hobby/way of life as we have.

Maybe a post titled something like "Looking for a mentor near Duchess County" would be helpful to link up with someone.
