New to smoking

Hi all I'm from Louisiana and wanna get into smoking meat so looked around the net for info and found this place and wanted to join.

I just got a "ECB" to start out on. I did a bunch of Drumsticks yesterday just to see how it would hold temp and it did pretty good. The meat was still kinda pink but I didn't see any blood at the bone so I'm sure it was good to go based on the temp in the meat being 170.

Gonna try some pork today!!!

Welcome to the forums!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

Welcome, I'm pretty new myself but have found some very useful info here. Don't look at the fatties unless you have time to run to the store and do a smoke!
