Hi, my name is Dinah, and I live in Duncan, OK.   I've been wanting to get a smoker for a while, and was lucky enough to win some gift cards at a recent company golf scramble that was enough to buy the awesome MasterBuilt smoker at Sams!

I seasoned it as instructed, and used it to smoke pork steaks one night this week.  I had to "google" recipes, because I really had no idea how to even get started, and there wasn't even a small recipe book included!  I had some Head Country dry rub I put on the meat the night before, and I smoked them with Hickory (the only chips I had) for about an hour, then took them out and put them in foil and put back in the smoker for another 1 1/2 hours.  They were very tender and juicy, and had plenty of smokey flavor.

I'm here to get recipe ideas, and learn the best chips that work best with certain meats.  My mission is to stock my freezer with some smoked meats in zip-locks I can take out for quick & tasty meals after a long day at work.

So....any pointers for the newbie is appreciated!

Thank you.  I'm happy to have found this forum.
