New to Smoking, First Post (Masterbuilt Gas)

Discussion in 'Roll Call' started by allistah, Jun 10, 2013.

  1. Hi all --

I have recently bought a Masterbuilt 30" 2 door vertical gas smoker.  I had a very successful first smoke, but I'm quickly learning that there are a lot of mods that I need to make to this unit so that it operates how I want it to.  I live in a very windy area and today I fought the wind all day - it was terrible.  I'm just glad that the meat turned out very well and it was the best meat I have ever made.  Very happy and can't wait to make all the other mods to this thing and cook some more stuff in it..

  5. Thanks for the warm welcome! :) ill update my location later today once I get to work. My first smoke came out very well so I'm actually thinking about starting a sort of blog on these forums so that others can benefit from what I have done and will do in the future. Is there a proper space for that?

    Thanks again everyone!

Welcome Pal, I see that you are thinking about making mods to your smoker. All I can say is that if you are happy with the way your finished product comes out, then I would keep everything the way it is. The only ones you need to impress is you and your family. I wish you the best of times cooking/smoking. Godspeed on your meat journey!

Alli....you can not do a blog here....but with your profile you will be able to keep up with everything.  If you want to "subscribe" to threads and follow them you can.  Or if you want to save information on your PC....you can use Evernote.
