Good morning all, Finally got a smoker and got up early this morning to smoke my first butt. I got a Redstone Smokehouse grill with offset smoker. I seasoned it for about 5 hours yeaterday so it would be good and ready for today. I used hard wood lump charcoal to start the fire with a combo of hickory chunks and apple chips for my woods. Made a basic rub and let it sit in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap over night. Its been going for about 1 1/2 hours at 225-240 (still trying to get the temps down). I will try and keep you posred and post a pic of the finished product. Found this fourm last night and just had to join. Look forward to meeting and learning from you guys.
