My name is Chris. The BBQ name comes from one of my escape artist dogs who took off as I was filling out an application to join an amateur division in local BBQ contest. I just happened to be on the "Team Name" blank and hadn't come up with anything yet!
Experienced just enough to get me in trouble. I have been a hobbyist for about 4 years. I started with a Weber Kettle and had immediate success. Played around with ribs and briskets and was widely known for hauling as many Weber Kettles to my house as I could borrow for feeding large groups of people.
Last year I upgraded(???) by getting a CharGriller SFB for Father's Day. I have used it with varying degrees of success and just modified it to a reverse flow unit, hoping it will cure some of it's ills, I discovered this forum just last week, joined it yesterday, and today discovered a whole thread of CharGriller mods and now I have a few more I'm going to do.
I'm learning a lot just looking around on here.
