South West Louisiana
Howdy,
My name is Chris and I'm from South West Louisiana. I just purchased an Old Country 20" heavy duty smoker from academy. I guess I fall into the novice catergory. I've done some smoking in the past for special occasions, but mainly preferred grilling because it is faster. I had a New Braufels Bandera Smoker for about 12 years, but it finally gave up the ghost about 2 years ago. I've just been grilling on a homemade grill since then. Getting older now and not nearly in as big of hurry, so I'm ready to learn how to smoke the right way.
Age: 37 (the back side of 30, but hopefully not the short side of time)
Occupation: Process Operator for the last 19 years
Background: grew up on a farm/ranch (still live in the country, but work in town at one of the plants)
Hobbies: Hunting and fishing with my sons (ages 19,10,7)
I spend a fair portion of my days off helping my Pop with the ranch, but in the evenings I enjoy burning some meat, drinking some rum and sitting around a bonfire.

Thanks,
Chris
