All I wanted to do was smoke some Salmon, so I bought an ECB at a garage sale, next thing I know I jumped off the cliff. I have one working ECB, one for parts and another in the waiting to be modified when the Ugly Red Ironman ECB finally dies. I found another forum by accident and took a liking to it. There I found great instruction how to build a UDS and well, I built one. I named it AquaLung. It was an aqua blue drum so I went with it. I love my weber and have made some really good grub on it.
I once was a kitchen manager at a fairly snooty supper club and learned how to cook from scratch, sauces, knife skills, techniques so I have a good background in all types of cooking, but BBQ has really been up front and center lately
I am not a stranger to forums with fishing forums being my first choice and found a few that I call home, the other BBQ forum I joined is a great place of nice people but in today’s world another group of friends is just around the corner, that is how I have met some of my best in person fishing buddies – online. You’ll learn I am not shy and hopefully I can hook up with some other bbq nuts locally.
My biggest passion is fishing, although I hunt some and garden quite a bit as well. But back to fishing, I live in the best place on the earth for fresh water fishing, Green Bay has huge walleyes and monster perch, my two favorite inland species, then just a hop, skip and jump down the road is Lake Winnebago, a walleye and perch factory. Then there's my love affair with Great Lakes Salmon. It is my obsession, there isn't an hour in the day I am do not at least once think of salmon fishing....
I am Wildlife Technician for the State of WI DNR. I am hated by many in the public sector only by my title. I do not always work and if you cannot differentiate the person from the job, too sad for you. I have the best job in the world and there are 50 people behind me trying to get in that remind me of this every day. I am blessed that I do not wake up in a fetal position loathing my life and dreading having to go to work every day, it is an adventure and I have learned to block out the white noise of the haters.
So with all that, I stop babbling and let this site soak in for a while. I think my pics might be monitored for a while, (understandable) but here’s a pic of AquaLung
