Well, I joined a few days ago and have been browsing around, and about every lost says the same thing.....head to the roll call, so here I am...lolMy name is Dustin, currently living in south central Alabama. No, im not a tide nor tiger fan. Husker pride nation wide! I was born and raised in northeastern Nebraska, relocating here close to 3 years ago. Worked outdoor jobs and was tired of being cold 5 months out of the year. Now I am here. Im a vol. Firefighter of almost 13 years now, and picked up rift where I left off, just with a new department. Been loving cooking since I was about 10 years old. I picked up a love of grilling at an early age as well, and got fairly good at it. After moving here, I decided that it was time to expand my horizons a bit, and have now picked up smoking. Went and bought one of the brinkmann upright water smokers (the box looking one), and started in with spare ribs as they were fairly cheap. Buy the rub in the store and go to town. Have done a few racks, nothing that I am proud of, as they we're drier than I wanted, and that lil smoker is a pain to keep temps balanced in! I am still plugging away at it though, and have seen the plywood smokers on here, and so happen to have a boat trailer that would move it, a grill, and some coolers around perfectly. So in the coming time here, I will be starting that project and switching to Propane.Guess that's a quick shout out about myself. Guess I didn't mention that im 30 years old though...lol if ya know a single lady that loves smoked foods and such send her my way too! LoL-Dustin

Welcome to the site !

Sounds like ya got a better game plan going than the cornhuskers did.

If ya got any questions ,just ask . Someione is allways willing to help.

Dustin, welcome aboard!  As you've probably seen, there's some great information on here along with some very helpful folks so don't hesitate to ask questions.  Good luck finding you a smokin' partner, an extra set of hands does come in handy.

Happy Smokin'!
