Home is Glendale, AZ.
Looks like a great site for information and tips especially for newbie like me!

Live in AZ, retired, do a lot of archery hunting and fishing. Have been blessed for sure and get to spend my summers in Oregon fishing trout, kokanee and salmon. Up till now I have always had my wife's cousin who lives there smoke my fish for me (50/50 split). Now I am looking to get a small electric smoker and do my own.

I am sure I will be here frequently looking for help

I will start with this: I travel with a pickup and 28' 5th wheel with a 16' foot Lund in tow. I am thinking I am going to purchase a Masterbuilt 30" Model 20070910, I think I can load and unload it from the pickup easy enough, I have electric hookups most all times, and usually stay at the same spot for at least 2 weeks and am usually on the road for 3-4 months at a time. With all that said, do you think this is going to work out for me? My main objective is smoking fish in camp!

Welcome to the group!  You'll find that this is a great place to share ideas on smoking, grilling, etc.  There are plenty of folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.  The MES30 would probably work well for you...you might also think about some of the similar sized propane smokers...in case you camp somewhere without electrical hookups.

I think a MES30  will work out fine. You might want to get a AMNPS to go with it.

Happy smoken.

Thanks for welcome and looking forward to learning as I go. Will be a fun experience I am sure.

As for camping where we don't have electric, it could happen but not very often. My wife enjoys the convenience and I try to keep her happy!

A couple years ago I carried my 3500 Honda generator for 3 months and used it 2 days total. Since then I have left it home on our summer trip. We stay mainly in State Park campgrounds with power and water and when not someone else in our group has a generator if needed.

Typically I fish mornings and hang around camp in the afternoons so I think to smoker will work out great in camp!
