I just had a great smoked meal at a neighbors last night.  This rekindled my interest in smoking meats.  We have had a propane smoker for about 12 years....  and haven't used it in about 5 years.  My wife can't stand the smoke.  After last night when she had the meal and saw how much less smoke a Masterbuilt... ooops ...  I mean a MES...  ( I spent a long time trying to figure out all those acronyms....  I thought you folks were speaking in tongue... then I found the download page)  So, for a while now I have been thinking a Bradley BTDS76P was the way to go after a recommendation from a friend.  After reading here, it looks like an MES may be a bit more reliable way to go.  So, Craigslist today for my propane smoker and then on to more research.  Looks like this forum is a wealth of information.  We live on the water in a Hansville, WA, which is rural and good salmon fishing right out front. Thanks for all the contributions that are available here.

Welcome from SC. I hope you will enjoy this great site. There are lots of really good folks here who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe

Welcome to the forum!  I'm not too familiar with the masterbuilts, but MES is a masterbuilt electric smoker.  The propane models should have another acronym, but I'm not sure. Best of luck on your quest, keep on smoking!

Welcome

I tend to consider myself as the smoker. The box is just what I set it in. Do not be worried about making a mistake. That how our smokers learn.
