I'm a relatively inexperienced smoker from Indiana. I have used a charcoal smoker before, but now have an electric that gets the job done with less stress.

Welcome. You will figure it all out with time. I started with the charcoal as a rookie and it was very stressful. I went to propane and that helped me keep my interest to continue smoking.
