Dallas TX area
Howdy - I'm John from from the Dallas TX area. Happy married and happily retired. We love to spend time traveling the country and also cruising,

I've been reading the boards from several days to research before buying my newest smoker.

For the past 20 years I'm been been using charcoal and using a old Brinkman and the Masterbuilt 7-in-1 that I still have -I was only smoking 3 or 4 times a year - mostly brisket and pork loins. While I love my charcoal it is hard to monitor the charcoal and smoke while I am on the golf course. Today I put together my Masterbuilt 40" electric gen 2.5 and just finished seasoning it.

I know these forums will be a wealth of info and I'm looking forward to trying to soak in as much info as I can.

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a warm cloudy day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan

Ha ha! There's only about 5 miles between the city of Charlotte city limits and the city of Monroe city limits. In those short little 5 miles are a total of fout other towns. Matthews, Stallings, Hemby Bridge, and Indian trail. Don't blink, because you'll miss it.
