My name is Bryce from Southern Illinois. I am new to BBQing meat but have been a meatcutter for about 15 years or so. Started my first pork butt and chicken legs this morning cant wait for it to get done, tried a brisket a while back and got agrevated so put the smoker up. I'm 30 years old married to a beautiful 28 year old woman and have a great 5 year old daughter that is fixen to start Kindergarten this week. Things can't get any better than this. If yall have any meat questions just ask.

Sounds odd I know but I got my start in a small butcher shop helping with deer and after school and worked my way up now I manage a local supermarket meat shop been there for about 12 years this November. I love my job. Not to many people have their jobs as a hobbie also.

Bryce, you need to keep an eye out for Pops.  Like you he grew up in the meat business.  In his case it was in his father's shop, and he now manages retail, as I recall.  He is a heck of a guy, and you two would have a lot to talk about.

Good luck and good smoking.

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks, great recipes and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.

Doesnt sound odde to me what so ever.. I think its wonderful that you got started at such an early age and kept with it to become the man you are today!!  I so appreciate the meat cutters and envy their/YOUR skills.  As a hunter, I can do a fair job of gutting, skinning, deboning but when it comes to the proper cuts--I get a might coRnfused--but somehow it kinda works.. Keep it up sir.
