....and I mean the actual smoker...not myself!!

Name is Mike and I live in NC in the Charlotte area

I'm on my 4th smoker now. It is my first offset style. My first three were all vertical smokers (last two were propane!)
What I have now is the Oklahoma Joe's Highland model. Having talked to several others and revues that I have read, I have already performed most of the mods that this smoker will need (I think...please advise!!). Seals around the lids, two thermometers added to lid at cooking level, "baffle" plate to even the heat/smoke, and sealed all the seams around the firebox. I do plan on adding a removable burner so it can be either gas or wood...we'll see.

I think I'm ready to go with this thing. Plenty of experience smoking...just not as much with wood/charcoal...looking forward to learning a lot.

Hope to read\see some other's ideas and smokers on here. Been getting the newsletters for years now...great stuff!

Happy smoking!!
