I have been looking to upgrade my old Charbroil Smoker so I have been watching Craigslist. I just picked up an Oklahoma Joe 36" Offset smoker for $100.00. Came with a cover (bit ripped and extra grates).

This thing is solid. It tired me out moving it to the back of my yard. I have been looking at these can checking reviews but all of them haf the stack on the end (Left or Right) but this has the Stack on the back. anyone know any info on these? How to look up the serial number and get info?

Tips are always welcome. I have been reading all of the mod posts here and will be making some shortly.

There are Okla Joe groups online you can check out.  Those guys probably know.  I can't post a link but all I did was Google "how old is my okla joe" and found  some enthusiast sites.

Loaded this up with charcoal last night just to burn it a bit and see where the smoke leaks are. Not too bad really I want to do a few mods on it. Held a constant 250 - 275 for about four hours without touching it.I think I may like this new one.

I wanted to try the new smoker once I burned it in so I grabbed a whole chicken (spatchcocked it) and a nice roast. The Roast had a basic rub using the 3-2-1-1 rub method. The chicken had a rub bought from the local butcher that was really quite good.

Here they are on the new OK Joe (from craigslist)

Had so much extra room I decided to add some Stuffed Mushrooms in the new cast iron pan I got for Fathers day.

Mushroom are done.

Roast is done (about 4 1/2 hours later)

I forgot to get a picture of the chicken but it was awesome as well.
