Sorry all, I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers by not coming to the Roll Call first. I had a specific question and in the interest of expediting an answer, went directly to the forum. My apologies to all.
Now, on with the details. The name is Chuck. I'm a born and raised Iweigan (Iowa), who has spent the last 32 years in Southern California, and have just recently moved back to the good life. ( Now in North-central Iowa instead of South-west). I own a boarding kennel and also raise, show and hunt Golden Retrievers.
I currently own a New Braunfels smoker and am trying to find time to build a cold smoker. I have been smokin for 20 years and I am a self taught expert in the fine art of great tasting, tough as nails ribs. I finally decided to share my techniques with others and see if they would respond in kind. You're the lucky group.
Please feel free to ask me anything you would like to know about producing petrified smoked meat.
Based on the information that I have just provided to you, I would have to give myself the title "Master of the Repulsive Rib".
Thanx in advance to all of you in advance for educating me. Maybe you can advance me to the OFBS status.

Welcome to the SMF family. I like your humor, takes a good man to laugh at his mistakes. We'll get ya straightened around real soon. Take the time to read about the 3-2-1 method for ribs, and maybe do a few searches on the pork forum. Time well spent!

No feathers ruffled here, Chuck.....welcome to the forum from another Iowegian......quite a few of us Iowans on here now...even a few up in your neck of the woods. Glad you found the site, and don't be afraid to share your knowledge and ask any questions you may have.

Eric

LOL! Welcome to SMF! I know of your pain... it's been a while, but yes..I have made a few slabs of doggie chew-toys in the past. Speaking of which, I love Goldens... best tempered, most loyal breed I can think of!

Look into the 3-2-1 method..and enjoy your time here!

May all your smokes be thin and blue.
Andy.
