Hey everyone, I'm Greg. Just got a GOSM for Christmas, am now trying to figure out how to use it. Tried a chicken yesterday, didn't turn out so well. Got on the internet, and here I am. White billowing smoke vs. thin blue smoke, brining? I have a lot to learn. What a great site! I can't wait to try again. Looking forward to reading everything here.

Welcome to the smf. If it didn't kill you then all is good. Everyone has to learn from exprience.

The good old trial and error learning curve.

Hello, and thanks for choosing the SMF. If you brine, they won't whine. Most of us brine our birds, and always try for the thin blue smoke. You sound ready to try some more... good sign my friend.

Wlcome to the SMF! check out the 5 day ecourse! its free and full of great info to get ya started! the folks around here a really freindly too and great help....

Welcome to SMF! I also have a GOSM and find that I get better "Thin Blue" when I use chunks as opposed to chips.

Hope this helps.

Take care, have fun, and do good!
