Hey everybody, I'm Jeremy from Athens, GA. I've been looking forward to getting into smoking for a while, and have been lurking on the SMF and Smoking-Meat.com in the process. I just got a killer deal on a propane smoker, so I'll be smoking something for the first time this weekend!

I got a Perfect Flame 36" vertical from Lowe's. Got 'em to price match the GOSM of $108 from Wal-Mart, then the cashier gave me an add'l 10% off at checkout. All I did was ask politely about the price match, then showed the guy the GOSM webpage on my iPhone and ended up pretty darn happy!

nice score......i have the same and as my first smoker i am pleased. i did do a couple of non permanent mods....if you can call them that and i get consistent temps. do a search on perfect flame or lowes.......

Seasoned the new smoker today. I got a Taylor weekend warrior digital thermometer at Lowes for temp control and fiddled with the gas control. Ended up nailing it for an hour right around 225 (allowing for minor fluctuations), so Saturday can't get here soon enough! I'm going to start with a couple butts or shoulders, depending upon the sales! I'll record the whole process for qview.
