yeah dan, i just bought that same smoker, i smoked some ribs yesterday and they didnt come out like i would have wanted them to. but this is my first go at it, so i just need some more experience with it.
i used sugar and silver maple, through the whole time i smoked the ribs we used only wood and i think i may have over smoked them, they were kinda tuff. or they need something through out the process to keep the meat moist.

3-2-1 or 2-2-1 for baby backs, you will be amazed. do a search for this method, it is really easy. then you can tweak the times to your liking. good luck!
