Hey guys, my name is Joel and I'm from the Pittsburgh area. I've been a member for a few months now and haven't came to the roll call section yet, so here I am. I work for a company based in the south and love to eat all the great smoked food when I travel that way for work. My dad has an MES 30 that he uses to smoke Kielbasa, but nothing else until lately. For Mother's Day, my wonderful wife bought me an MES 30 (yes, Mother's Day!!). I'm completely addicted now!! So far I have done two pork butts, two brisket flats, baby backs three times, almonds, and today I did two pork tenderloins and some wings. This week my AMNPS came in the mail, but haven't used it yet. My smoker is a gen 2 and produces little smoke, and my old man's is a gen 1, and produces good smoke, and today I cooked at his house, so that's why I didn't use my AMNPS. I'm thinking about buying a 55 gallon drum and building a UDS to learn how to cook over fire. I also have a weber genesis grill that runs on natural gas. My wife and I have a 5 month old baby boy, I love to fly fish for trout and steelhead, which I can't wait to smoke, and we attend and are active in a great church. That's a little about me! I thank everyone on here who have been so kind to lend help over my first month learning the ropes!!

Hi Joel, and welcome!!  Lots of MES users here (myself included...MES40) , so you can find lots of great advise. You might want to join the MES group. It's a great way to keep informed of all things MES. As for the AMNPS, Bearcarver turned me on to it, and I have never looked back. It solved all the smoke problems that I was having with mine. Nothing but TBS for me now, with some great smokes. I highly recommend it.
