Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, I grew up for the first 20 years of my life thinking "BBQ" was just anytime you threw something on the grill.
I started watching Food Network and saw what actual BBQ was and tasted it for the first time after moving to FL. Ever since, I knew it was something I'd like to have as a hobby one day and now that I live in a house, I'm finally able to indulge.
After getting 5 smokes under my belt (using a cheap CharBroil barrel-style offset), I've already learned a lot and figured it was time to start seeking out some expert advice. My plan is to keep using my cheap offset for the rest of summer to continue experimenting/learning and then upgrading to a more robust setup come fall time.
Can't wait to learn from everyone.
