Hello all,

I'm Kyle from Michigan. My in-laws got me a Masterbuilt propane smoker for Christmas and the weather is finally getting nice here, so I'm about to put it together and get smoking!

I want to get something in there Saturday. I have a bunch of beef in the freezer, so I thought I would thaw some out and try doing some jerky. I've been looking for a super easy recipe to get me started and gain some confidence. Anybody know of something like that? Like with store-bought marinade, etc.

Or is there something better to start with?

Any other tips are more than appreciated!

Thanks and nice to meet you all!

Kyle,

I have been using Nesco for all my jerky. I like the flavor of their mixes. It is the closest thing to store bought that I have found, and they are reasonably priced.

What part of Michigan are you from?

Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you here. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it. Thanks for joining,
