Karl from Ft. Worth, TX. Looking to get MES 30. I have AMNPS and maverick on order. Looking for some good rib, brisket and jerky recipes and tips.

Howdee Karl!

I have a MES30, a AMNPS and a maverick and couldn't be happier. This a great place to research any smoke before you attempt it. Its not like in the olden days where you had to wait and watch and hope the person smoking was nice enough to share their knowledge. The search engine is bustin at the seams with tried and tested results. The guru's will help explain if you don't understand something, and the folks here are always willing to talk about our favorite addiction.

If you mess up you can still eat a delicious meal. How can that be bad. My suggestion is get a notebook, flash drive, cardex, or a recipe folder and keep notes. You can use the search engine and there is a page full of links of down loadable smoke reports. Seriously wouldn't it be a shame if you did hit the perfect smoke and forgot how you did it?

Everything is in the search engine, just dig through and see what ya like.

The Guru's will be along to help you with indoctrination, don't worry its almost painless, and the sheep really doesn't mind. Usually.

Hello Karl and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  The trial and error method works well.  We will try to help you keep the errors to a minimum since we already made them for you.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around here in SMF....just give me a shout.  Happy to help any time!
