My name is Slayr I live in mustang Oklahoma. I have a 30 inch master built smoker and love it. Trying to soak up as much knowledge from y'all veterans as I can. This is hobby going wild for me.

Howdy from the Finger Lakes of NY.  My wife used to live in Mustang.  Her former husband was a pipeline mechanic there.  One nice thing about learning things here is all the truly helpful folks on the site.  What kid of critter parts do you like to smoke?

I have gotten pretty good at spare ribs. I've done a bacon weave on a deer meat loaf I did a whole chicken that didn't turn out good. I want to do a brisket but they are expensive and I don't want to screw up.

I have found some good prices (better than most) at Sam's club and Costco on brisket. You can also try just a flat or a point alone instead of a whole packer to get warmed up. Its really good to have a reliable meat thermometer, allot of guys here (myself included) use the Maverick 732, definitely worth the money if you want great BBQ.

Have fun!
