Hey All,

I have a good friend down in SC who has been bugging me to get into smoking for many years. I finally bit the bullet and requested a smoker for fathers day. Since I'm already a homebrewer and setup for propane, I went with the "Perfect Flame" smoker from Lowes after reading many threads here. I figured it would be a good "entry level" box.

Well, I cooked my first batch of ribs last weekend, and for a virgin I'd say I did OK! The family sure gave it rave reviews. I can already see however that I will need to replace the chip pan as many have suggested....not very big at all.

I also bit the bullet and ordered an ET-73 as I am sure the stock thermometer is junk.

Anyway, looking forward to much more smoking and camaraderie!

Barry
